Poker is undoubtedly one of the world's most popular card games. It's known worldwide for requiring an element of skill, some good luck and the ability to bluff your opponents and is also responsible for such phrases as 'poker face.' There is some dispute in regard to the history of the game though. However, the German game of 'Pochspiel' is thought to be the earliest variant of the card game, incorporating betting, the ranking of card hands and even some bluffing. This was a game that was played in Germany way back in the 15th century.
